About

Robert Sumrell Jr is a Republican running to secure the election as Illinois' 4th District State Senator because “Change is Inevitable and Time is Up”.

Rob’s plan for the 4th Legislative District is to create additional, quality education resources, regulate Illinois' current immigration circumstance, and empower independence back to the people.

His story began on the west-side of Chicago and advanced to Memphis, TN as his parents stabilized their familial journey there.  Rob's parents developed a bond working for Chicago’s youth summer job program from 10 South Kedzie.  Both parents went on to study at Malcolm X College and worked in various forms of government in Memphis. Watching his father gain knowledge in the sciences, Rob went on to receive a Bio-chemistry degree from The University of Memphis and a Master’s degree in Public Health Administration from Chicago State University.

Prior to his degree acquisition, he set sail to United States Navy and served in the Iraqi Freedom War.  As a Veteran, he cannot underestimate the sacrifices of those who fight to ensure the freedoms of America as well as having the influence of a long line of servicemen in his family.  His current work involves assisting the elderly and disabled.

Rob has 2 daughters, Marlyna and Maria.
